Obituary For Joyce K. Wynn Tenison Joyce Wynn Tenison, age 80, of McKinney, Texas, passed away October 11, 2007 in Plano. Joyce was born in Atlanta, Georgia to John H. and Mary (Tabor) Kellett. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Ruth K. Newlin, and her brother, John H. Kellett, Jr. Joyce is survived by her husband of 34 years, William W. Tenison and children: Jan Wynn Cole Lindberg and husband Dick; Claire Tenison Mills and her husband Steve; Laura Tenison Smith and her husband Gene; Richard Tenison and wife Susan; Caroline Tenison Brackley; Cynthia Tenison Bender; and eleven grandchildren. Joyce graduated from Gulfpark College in Gulfport, Mississippi and was an award winning interior designer for over fifty years. Joyce began her career in Houston in 1947 before moving to Dallas. She became a member of A.S.I.D. in 1956 and later served as President of the Texas chapter. Joyce went on to become a member of the national board of A.S.I.D. for eleven years. In 1971 she formed her namesake firm, Joyce K. Wynn, Inc. Joyce’s designs won numerous awards and were published in Designers West, Restaurants & Institutions, Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, and others. Joyce loved God, her family, life and her career. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of McKinney. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at First United Methodist Church of McKinney at 315 North Church Street. The family will receive friends at visitations on Monday, October 15th from 3:00-5:00 PM at Sparkman Hillcrest at 7405 Northwest Hwy. and in McKinney at 7:00 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 4140 N. Central Expressway #750, Dallas, TX 75204
