Joyce Ann Moody Brous, age 72, of Plano, TX, passed away May 1, 2009, in Plano. Joyce was born April 14, 1937, in Warren, AR, to Elbert Eugene and Willeen (Scott) Moody. Joyce’s family moved to Orange, TX in 1944, where she spent her childhood years. She attended TWU where she earned a B.A. in Music Education and later a M.A. from SMU. Joyce taught music in the DISD from 1959 to 1996. In her young adult years she traveled with First Baptist Church Dallas on mission trips to Hong Kong, Korea and Japan and later to Antigua. Joyce was willing and ready to serve in any way possible. Survivors include her husband, Robert Brous of Plano; sister, Sandra Moody Stendebach of Duncanville; step-daughter, Kim Brous Foster of Dallas; nephew, Keith Stendebach; niece, Amy Stendebach Weir; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; three great-nephews, and one great-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Monday, May 4, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, TX with Dr. Leon Aduddle officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, TX. The family will receive friends during a visitation at 2:00 P.M., Monday prior to the service.
