A letter from Hailey to her Gram: R.I.P My Gram, Evelyn Joyce Mattocks (born February 22, 1930) Passed away peacefully this morning (June 14, 2011) at 2:00a.m. She was the strongest woman of God I have ever known. I was so close to my Gram, and will love her and see her soon. She loved the Lord, and her faith in God was un-moveable, she never blamed God for getting cancer, but rather knew God came to give her life, and His purpose was for her to enjoy it abundantly, in that she did. (John 10:10) My Gram began seeing glimpses of Heaven a couple weeks ago. She would tell us how beautiful it was, and one could only see how her Spirit longed to be there. She believed that she had completed the tasks in which God intended for her to do and felt right asking if she could go home to be with Him now. Her wishes were to pass away peacefully, and hurt no more, and she did. God is so generous to give us a choice and He respected her wishes to the upmost. We know she’s with my grandpa and Jesus, praising God and loving her new home! My Gram loved her family and friends more than anyone of us could ever understand, she would give and give and never want anything in return. She was selfless and full of life, and enjoyed every bit of it. I have learned and will continue to learn so much from her and the life and legacy she lived. Of course I wish I could have one more day with her, but because she loved me so much I have to know that she loves me from Heaven now, and I will see her soon. She's just moving to a new home (a.k.a Mansion) and ill get to come visit her one-day! I love you Gram and I thank God for the 21 years of life I got to share with you and the 81 years of life He gave you here on earth, to strengthen, love, and inspire others.
