Joyce was born on March 29, 1930 in Barataria Trinidad, West Indies.
Joyce married the love of her life Carlton E. Hinds on Nov 21 1953.
Joyce attended Osmon Business School and worked in the Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago as a secretary. She worked there for several years. After Leaving Trinidad she lived in Muscatine, Iowa with her family before moving to and settling in Brooklyn, NY in 1964 to raise a family.
Joyce worked at Chase Manhattan Bank as a check processing supervisor from 1965 to 1977.
She later worked as a Paralegal at the Law Firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Lieby and MacRea from 1979 to her retirement in 1994. Joyce was a devout Catholic and was a member of St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY and longtime member of the Knights of Columbus as a Columbiette.
Joyce enjoyed singing in the choir and volunteering at the church and served as a volunteer librarian at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Elementary School. To Joyce, family was her first priority and time spent with family and close friends was what really mattered.

Children – Mr. Roger Hinds and wife Carmen of Prosper, TX; Mr. Christopher Hinds and wife Evelyn of Huntington, NY; Mr. Derek Hinds of Staten Island, NY; Mrs. Susan Welch and husband Ronald of Celina, TX; and Mr. Jason Hinds of Hurst, TX.
Grandchildren- Gregory King, Andre Hinds, Justin Hinds, Jessica Strickland, Aja Hinds, Jordan Lewis, Alejandro Hinds, Jade Hinds, Cailin Hinds, Vianca Hinds, Arianna Welch, Caden Hinds, Austin Welch and Alayna Welch.
