Joyce Ann Hurst, age 89, of Garland, Texas passed away on April 23, 2016. She was born on July 19, 1926 in Richmond, Indiana to Kathryn M. (Rausch) and Earl Commons. On August 3, 1945 in Richmond, Indiana Joyce married Kenneth G. Hurst. Joyce enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, boating, fishing and taking cruises. She loved to play the piano. She composed two songs which will be sung at the funeral service by 3 of her great granddaughters.
Joyce is survived by her son, Howard Hurst of Frisco, Texas; eleven grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; two sister-in-law, Jean and Ann Commons.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth G. Hurst; two sons, Larry and Michael Hurst; two brothers, Robert and Jack Commons.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM, prior to the funeral service. The Funeral Service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75033 beginning at 2:30 PM with Pastor James Judd officiating. Interment will be held at DFW National Cemetery.
