Jonnie Helen James, age 94, of McKinney, Texas, passed away August 15, 2015. Jonnie was born July 24, 1921, in Doyle, Oklahoma, to James Oscar and Lula (Clark) Blair. She married Guy R. James on May 18, 1943, in Goree, Texas (Knox County.) Jonnie was a telephone operator at AT&T and retired after 40 years service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Justin, Texas.
She is survived by her daughters, Nelda McClinton and husband, Bill of Mansfield, Texas and Donna Brown and husband, Charles Richard of Parker, Texas; granddaughters, Jennifer Byrd and husband, Bruce of Dallas, Texas, Melissa Hardin and husband, Neil of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Megan McClinton of Fort Worth, Texas; grandson, John J. Brown and wife, Stacey of McKinney, Texas; great-grandchildren, Ally, Collin, and Natalie Hardin, Cali and Connor Byrd, and Azalea and Graydon Brown; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Grady Blair and Joe Blair, and sister, Bonnie Green.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Allen Heights Baptist Church, 1309 E. Main, Allen, Texas, 75002. Interment will follow at Springtown Cemetery in Springtown, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
