IN LOVING MEMORY

Jon Christopher Moseley

Nov 11 1950 - Apr 07 2014

Surrounded by his children, Jon Christopher Moseley, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2014 in Celina, Texas in the home of his daughter. Jon was a beloved father and grandfather. He loved his family, and loved taking care of people.

The youngest son of W.H. (Pete) and Ruth Gantt Moseley, he was born on November 11, 1950 in McKinney, Texas, and moved to Allen, Texas shortly thereafter. His father became the Superintendent of the Prosper School District, and the Moseley family moved to the area when Jon was in 3rd grade. After graduating from Prosper High School in 1969, he attended what was then North Texas State University. He graduated with a degree in business and went into banking. Over the past four decades, he worked at numerous banks in the north Texas area, becoming president of several, and working hard until he became sick. He believed in helping people achieve success, and made it a point to give loans to local businesses and companies.

A faithful member of Wesley United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas, he raised his family in the faith and was committed to the life of the church. He was a loyal member of the Mason Lodge in Melissa, Texas, and a longtime member of Hurricane Creek Country Club in Anna, Texas. He loved playing golf, and cherished the time he spent with his golfing buddies and his sons, son-in-law, and grandsons on the course.

Jon Moseley, known as “Papa” to his grandchildren, loved to sing and play piano and guitar. He especially loved The Beatles, and passed the love of music on to his family. He was generous and kind, told lots of corny jokes, and loved watching his grandsons and granddaughters perform, play, compete, and have fun. His favorite moments were when his family gathered together, told stories and sang songs. He always wanted everyone to know how special they were to him, and will always be remembered with love and joy.

He is survived by his siblings, Joycelaine Angle, Sharon Johnson, Wendell G. Moseley and their spouses; his children, Natalie Moseley Craver, Clay Moseley, Neil Moseley and their spouses; his grandchildren, Savanah, Caelen, and Emma Jo Craver, Mitchell and Spencer Moseley, and Nathaniel Moseley; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his son-in-law, 2nd Lt. Johnny Craver.

A celebration of Jon’s life will be held on Thursday evening, April 10, 5:00-8:00 pm at Hurricane Creek Country Club, in Anna, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all memorials be given to the WWWW Foundation to support cancer research. Go to www.quadW.org to give in Jon’s memory.
