Mr. Jon Evans Jewett, Sr., age 71, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007 in McKinney, Texas. He was born April 21, 1935 in Savannah, Georgia to Howard and Lucille (Evans) Jewett. Mr. Jewett served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. In 1985, Jon married Linda Gill in Savannah, Georgia. He worked as an architect and was a member of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Marietta, Georgia. He is survived by his son, Jon E. Jewett, Jr. and his wife Gwen of Allen, Texas; granddaughter, Janet Elizabeth Jewett; brother, Ronald R. Jewett of Savannah, Georgia; and numerous other loving family and friends. Preceding him in death were his wife, Linda in August 2006; and brother, Howard Jewett. Graveside Services will be held 2:30 PM, Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas with Dr. Mark Forrest officiating. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Monday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 6 – 8 PM.
