Johnny Kyle Cotten, age 29, of Murphy, Texas, passed away September 16, 2010. Johnny was born December 23, 1980, in Plano, Texas, to Johnny and Emma (Smith) Cotten. He married Shannon Elizabeth Pope Cotten on June 9, 2004 in Plano, Texas. Johnny was a graduate of Southern Methodist University in 2003. He is survived by his wife, Shannon Elizabeth Cotten of Murphy, Texas; daughters “the poodles”, Caroline Grace and Emerson Rose Cotten; parents, John T. and Emma (Smith) Cotten; brother, Dr. Nathan Cotten and wife Brenda of Frisco, Texas; niece and nephew, Avery and Dylan Cotten; grandmother, Emma Evelyn Smith of Princeton, Texas; mother and father in-law, Mary Jo and Craig Pope of Plano, Texas; brother-in-law, Carson Pope of Plano, Texas; brother-in-law, Christopher Pope and fiancé Lindsay Dryer of Allen, Texas; numerous other loving relatives and friends; and his beloved dog Pistol. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Nathan D. Smith; grandmother, Jane Boger; aunt Pat Combest; uncle, Larry Combest; and cousin, Kristie Combest. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas, with Monsignor Henry V. Petter officiating. Feel free to attend in casual attire.
