John Wetjen

Mr. John Wetjen, age 81, of McKinney, Texas, formerly of Ridgewood, New Jersey, passed away December 2, 2004, in Plano, Texas. He was born March 3, 1923, in New York, New York, to Richard and Michaelina (Todd) Wetjen. He married Marilyn Stapleton in September of 1945 in New York. Mr. Wetjen served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a carpenter and worked at Chelsea Ship Repair in New York. He is survived by his sons, John Wetjen and wife, Stephanie of Kansas, and Thomas Wetjen and wife, Cathy of New York; daughter, Lorraine Davis and husband, Bob of McKinney,Texas; grandchildren, Michael, Christine and husband, Shawn Keough, Dr. Thomas F. Wetjen, Susan Wetjen, Jennifer, Tim and Katie Davis; great-grandchildren, Carly and Megan Wetjen; sister, Grace Lanning of New York; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Wetjen. There will be a visitation with the family from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M., Monday, December 6, 2004, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. An inurnment will follow at a later date at George Washington Memorial Cemetery in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Frank Kozar’s Flag Committee addressed to VFW, Memorial Post 850, P. O. Box 64, Glen Rock, NJ 07452-0064.
