John Nelson Weaver, age 58, of Dallas, Texas passed away April 11, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on January 7, 1949, in Beaumont, Texas, to Doyle Marshall and Pauline Violet (Anderson) Weaver. John spent his entire working career in the banking industry beginning with First Bank and Trust in Lufkin in 1969. He served in positions in Groveton, Lufkin and Dallas, before finishing his career with Comerica from 1993 to 2007. He always worked “Bank Night”, the banking industry’s American Heart Association fund raiser. He is survived by his son, Brad Weaver of Zavalla, Texas; grandchildren Jessica Shird and Rebecca Powelle, both of Zavalla, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Nielsen and her husband Robert of Montgomery, TX and Bettie Scroggins and her husband Harold of Lufkin, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father in 1994; and his mother in 2004. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Dr. Mark Forrest officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. An additional funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Gibson Metcalf Funeral Chapel in Lufkin, Texas. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories, Lufkin, TX. The family will receive friends during a visititation at the funeral home in Lufkin on Monday, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
