John Thomas, age 20, of Allen, Texas went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2011. He was born on June 27, 1991, in Blue Island, Illinois to Kurien and Mini Thomas. He is survived by his parents Mini and Varkey John; father Kurien Thomas; siblings Sarina, Benjamin and Joshua. He is the grandchild of the Late Pastor P.J Thomas and Late Aleyamma Thomas (Thiruvalla, India) and Idiculla and Kunjamma Bennikutty (Pathanapuram, India). John accepted Christ as his savior when he was at the age of 9 and got baptized when he was 16 years old. He loved the Lord and had a deep faith and trust in the Lord. He had a passion to serve the Lord and was actively involved with youth and Sunday school while in Hoffman Estates and in Allen. At the age of 12, John became the State Champion (IL) for Junior Bible quiz. He was proud of his heritage and respected the ministry of his grandfather Pastor P J Thomas, founder of Sharon Fellowship Churches. His desire was to serve the Lord especially among the youth. He graduated from Allen High in 2009 and was pursuing further studies at Collin County Community College. He grew up in Hoffman Estates, IL and moved to Allen, TX while he was in high school. He loved sports and was a true fan of Bulls, Bears and Cubs. He believed “a true fan is someone who will always support despite of win or lose and cheer them through the ups and downs.” He never gave up hope on his team during a game and believed there is a chance to win until you hear the last whistle. John was selfless, caring, humorous, gentle, loving, non complaining and a fun loving young man full of life. He took a special pride to call himself “Mama’s boy”. He loved food. He courageously faced his illness, never complained but had a deep trust in the Lord. On August 25th, when he left us behind to be with the Lord, he is asking each one of us a question, “I am with the Lord, Will I get a chance to see you again?” An evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2011, at Sharon Fellowship Church of Dallas, 940 Barnes Bridge Road, Mesquite, Texas 75150. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 5:30 p.m., Friday, at Sharon Fellowship Church of Dallas. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Chase Oaks Church, 281 Legacy Drive, Plano, Texas 75023. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas.
