IN LOVING MEMORY

John Peter Seskes

Aug 06 1929 - Mar 30 2014

John Peter Seskes, age 84 of Frisco, Texas passed away on March 30, 2014 in Irving, Texas. He was born on August 6, 1929 in Mayfield Heights, Ohio to Mary (Kausevic) and Anthony Seskevic. On January 3, 1959 John married Margaret Louise Bee in Akron, Ohio.

John served as a minister at the Cathedral of Tomorrow for over 37 years. The main focus of his life was to guide others toward the encouragement, hope, and salvation that he had found in Jesus Christ.  His authentic, honest, and compassionate character combined with his strength, determination, great sense of humor, spirit of humility, and love for others drew many to John’s door when they were in need.  He always had a listening ear.  He thoroughly studied and taught the Bible and trained many others to do the same.

He was a devoted, faithful, and loving husband, father and grandfather.  His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren who understand what it means to have a sure and steady faith, because they saw it demonstrated through his example during good times and bad.  He made certain that everyone knew they were valued, appreciated, and loved.

John loved music, playing the guitar, and singing.  He enjoyed working outdoors to beautify the landscape.  He was happy at the beach or in the mountains. Favorite moments were spent in the sunshine, with family pets, and with his family whom he enjoyed taking on adventures.  He was a “health nut” before it was the popular thing to do.

A favorite verse was, “God works all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.”  He also taught that, “To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.”  We know that He is now home rejoicing with his Heavenly Father.   He fought the good fight, he finished the course, and he most certainly kept the faith!  He will be loved by many for years to come.

John is survived by his wife, Margaret Seskes of Frisco, Texas; two daughters, Cynthia Louise Seskes of Dallas, Texas, Pamela Jane Bertsch and her husband, Jeffrey of Plano, Texas; two grandchildren, Jonathan Hamilton Pritchett and Hanna Elizabeth Pritchett.

John is preceded in death by his parents.

A Graveside Service will be held at DFW National Cemetery on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11:15 AM with Chaplain Harper Newman officiating.
