John Robert Reid, age 74, of McKinney, Texas passed away September 9, 2008. He was born April 20, 1934 in Coalgood, Kentucky to Harold and Bertha (Collins) Reid. On June 6, 1952 he married Cipriana Peña in Seguin, Texas. John proudly retired from the United States Air Force where he was a Master Sgt. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. John enjoyed fishing, flying and golfing. He was of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife Cipriana of McKinney, Texas; son, Michael Reid and wife Alice of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Michelle Reid and husband, David Smith of Allen, Texas; granddaughter, Tina Arciniega and husband, Frank of McKinney, Texas; great-granddaughters, Emelia Arciniega and Victoria Arciniega both of McKinney, Texas; brother, Marvin Wallace Reid of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Allen, Texas. Inurnment with full military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. The family will receive friends during a remembrance gathering on Friday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
