IN LOVING MEMORY

John Sutherland Puster

Nov 20 1942 - Nov 11 2012

John Sutherland Puster was born November 20, 1942 in Laredo, Texas and joined the L-rd in Heaven on November 11, 2012. He was the son of John Sames (Jack) Puster and Nina Ruth Perry Puster.

As the son of a Border Patrol Officer, John lived in numerous Texas towns along the Texas/Mexican border. He graduated from Burges High School in El Paso in 1960 and went on to attend the United States Air Force Academy where he excelled in football and track, and graduated with highest honors. Following graduation he was trained as a fighter pilot, flying F4D Phantom jets. While in flight school he met and married Margaret Scott in 1967. He served in Viet Nam and Saudi Arabia and together they served tours of duty along with their daughters in Japan and Spain. During that time he received his Master's Degree while attending Command and Staff School in Montgomery, Alabama. After leaving the Air Force John worked for Lufthansa Airlines in Phoenix training pilots and was currently employed by the Federal Aviation Agency in the Flight Standards Program.

During his Air Force career, John came to the knowledge of the saving grace of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah and dedicated his life to Him with total commitment. While still supporting the military, he felt that the L-rd was calling him to a different life, and he resigned his commission and started anew. He began with much zeal, and over the years he grew in grace and his faith matured, giving him a heart of love and service.

John is survived by Margaret, his wife of 45 years; his daughter Kay Wall and her husband Randy and their daughter Marlee of Lubbock, Texas; his daughter Michelle Vacanti and her husband Patrick and their children Brooke, Casey, Domenic, and Gabriella of Mount Laurel, New Jersey. He is also survived by his sister Ruth Semrau of Avinger, Texas; his brother Robert Puster and his wife Rebecca of Allen, Texas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews.
