John Oscar "Jack" Pivin

John Oscar “Jack” Pivin, age 77, of McKinney, Texas, passed away May 3, 2014.  He was born on May 26, 1936, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to Oscar and Ida (Gauthier) Pivin. On September 24, 2005, Jack married Jeanenne Huntoon in McKinney, Texas. He received his degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.  Jack began his career at Parson Construction traveling the world; he then worked for Ford, Bacon Davis Construction; as well as Bectell Construction in oil refinery and power plants; in 1985 he was a full partner of Pivin-Carr Inc., which was sold in 1997; he completed his career by consulting with Hill Wilkinson, Inc.  Jack studied at  Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  He loved golf and played all over the country.  He also loved to travel and play gin rummy. Jack was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanenne Pivin of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Kelly Sue Iacovone and husband Daniele of London, England; grandchildren, Isabella Maria Iacovone and Julian Oscar Iacovone; sister, Jeanette Pivin of Bristol, Rhode Island; stepchildren, Heidi Bentley and husband Bryan of Sherman, Texas and Brian Rauch of Van Alstyne, Texas; step-grandchildren, Shelby, Chloe, Jude, Elina and Colten.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ida Pivin; and first wife, Lillyan Theresa Pivin.

A funeral Mass will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 N Greenville Ave, Allen, Texas, with Father Tim Church officiating.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends during a visitation, being held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2014 evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
