Funeral Services for John Junior Phifer, 84 year old Blue Ridge resident, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday January 31, 2012 at the Pike Baptist Church. Brother Don Brown and Jake McCarley will officiate. Burial will be in the Pike Cemetery. Family visitation will be Monday January 30, 2012 from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Pike Baptist Church. Mr. Phifer was born June 10, 1927 at Tishomingo, MS. His parents were James Riley and Estella Tennison Phifer. He married Ruth Beatrice Pryor June 30, 1951 at Blue Ridge, Texas. He worked for many years as an accountant for the railroad. He was a member of the Pike Baptist Church and he served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He passed away Wednesday January 25th at his residence. He is survived by his wife: Ruth Pryor Phifer of Blue Ridge; his son and daughter-in-law: Terry Keith and Judy Phifer of Blue Ridge; his grandchildren: Kyle and Shawn Phifer of Blue Ridge; his sisters: Betty Phifer, Maxine Phifer, Helen McAnnaly and Ann Phifer of Tishomingo, MS; his brothers: J.D. Phifer, Donnie Phifer and Doyle Phifer of Tishomingo, MS and Randal Phifer of Tupelo, MS; 9 nieces, 11 nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Harold Phifer, Billy Ray Phifer and Jimmy Dale Phifer.
