John Fredrich Oestmann

John Fredrich Oestmann, age 37, of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 28, 2014. He was born May 3, 1977, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Heubert and Karen (Howard) Oestmann. On March 21, 1998, John married Angela Bassinger in Unadilla, Nebraska. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, Bravo Battery, 160th Field Artillery as a Fire Direction Specialist. John was a very active member of the Prosper United Methodist Church, where he loved to volunteer with the children’s camps. He was an avid fisherman and duck hunter. John was a true man of faith and never met anyone he didn’t get along with. He was the best dad ever.

He is survived by wife, Angela Oestmann of McKinney, children, Ethan Oestmann, James Oestmann and Lilah Shae Oestmann all of McKinney; parents, Heubert and Karen Oestmann of Cushing, Oklahoma; brothers, Bryon Oestmann and wife Patricia of Cushing, Oklahoma, Stephen Oestmann and wife Wendie of Moline, Illinois and Aaron Oestmann and wife Jessica of Gig Harbor, Washington; sister, Jessica Yandell and husband Brandon of Moore, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Cindy Bassinger of Unadilla, Nebraska; brother-in-laws, Terry Bassinger and wife Angela and Adam Bassinger and wife Jennifer; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bassinger; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

John is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Scott Bassinger; brother-in-law, Miner Bassinger; grandparents, Roy and Jean Howard, Reinhart and Genevieve Oestmann.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Custer Road United Methodist Church, 6601 Custer Road, in Plano, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday evening, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway N., in Allen, Texas.
