John A. Jacob, age 83 of McKinney, Texas, passed away August 24, 2014 in McKinney, Texas. He was born November 24, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to August Henry and Mary Grey (Ingram) Jacob. John married Esther Louise Jones September 29, 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He was employed by Oldsmobile Division, General Motors Corp. and retired in 1992 after thirty-five years of service. John was a member of the Reformed Church of Plano for thirty-two years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Esther L. Jacob of McKinney, Texas; three sons, John Jacob and wife Robin of Plano, Texas, Bob Jacob and wife Pat of Long Island, New York, and Glenn Jacob and wife Chris of Clifton Park, New York; daughters, Sharon Chappelear and husband Brad of Allen, Texas and Sandy Hodgins and husband Jim of Allen, Texas; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; along with a host of other loving family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, August and Mary Jacob and son, Gary Steven Jacob.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
