John Franklin Higginbotham, age 70 of Celina, Texas passed away December 27, 2003 in McKinney, Texas. John was born on September 2, 1933 in New London, Texas to Winfred and Blanche Higginbotham. John worked as a self-employed carpernter and was a member of the Baptist Faith. John is survived by his sons, David Wayne and Diane Higginbotham of Grand Prairie, TX, Darvin R. and Lisa Higginbotham of Celina, TX; daughters, Sherry Jolly of San Antonio, TX, Cynthia and Gaylon Nash of Odessa, TX, Katrina and Gill Corbin of Greenville, MS and Tisha and David Smith of Arlington, TX; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Winfred Calvin Higginbotham, Jr. of Louisianna, Rush Higginbotham of Shreveport, La. And Walter Higginbotham of Overton, TX; sister, Martha Chubb of Tyler, TX; several other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dorothy. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 109 S. Oklahoma Street, Celina. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas at 2:00 pm.
