John Wilbert Harris rode off into the sunset to be with his Lord on Friday, December 20th, 2013 with his family by his side at his home in Aubrey, Texas. He was born in May, Texas on September, 27th, 1940 to George and Ann Harris. He was a loyal elder at First Baptist Church in Celina, Texas.
Surviving him is his wife, Audine; siblings, Dorothy Goodnight and her husband Dwayne, Betty Guthrie and her husband Jim, Wanda Dupree and her husband Ron; children Sheryl Dockrey, Tammy Bean, Kellye Simmons and her husband, Jimmy, Kendall Cooper and his wife Lori; grandchildren, Bret Bean and his wife, Jamie, Jaymi Wenzel and her husband, Marcus, Chad Blair and his wife, Kat, Jordan Simmons, Shane Blair, Jace Powell and his wife, Stephanie, Josh Simmons, Ashton Langdon and her husband, Bo, Autumn McEntire and Cody Cooper; great-grandchildren, Kelissa Blair, Braxton Blair, Taylor Bean and Bryleigh Blair and many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Preceding him in death are siblings GW Harris, Billy Ray Harris, Durmey Harris, Glenda Lee, and Paul Thurman (P. T.) Harris; grandson Colby Ross Dockrey and stepdaughter Karla Cooper.
A celebration in his honor will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 23rd at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel at 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 with a private graveside service at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
