John Joseph Hagan

Loving husband, father, brother and grandfather John Joseph Hagan (Jack) died on July 2, 2007, in Allen, Texas. He was the husband of now deceased Jewel R. Hagan, and father of John P. Hagan and Pamela H. Blair of Allen; Julie Bailey of Meridian, MS and Ann H Cary of Sunderland, MA. Jack was a loving grandfather to Kelsey Blair, Jarad Mitchell, , A.J. and Joey Hagan, Sean and Bridget Cary, and David and Brad Bailey. Jack was a favorite father-in-law to Terri Hagan, Bob Cary, Jeff Blair and David Bailey. He is survived by his brother Edward Hagan of Dallas. The family acknowledges the loving care given to Jack by Bia Johnston, his caregiver manager, and Lucy. Jack attended North Dallas High and graduated from Texas A&M in 1944 in chemical engineering. He proudly served his country in the Army in World War II and was honorably discharged as a Captain. While in the army he commanded a chemical mortar battalion unit in the Rhineland and Northern European campaigns. Jack held positions as a chemical engineer and in the research and development laboratories of Standard Oil, Cities Service, Jefferson Chemical and Texaco, and had developed patented products for the industry. Jack was a proud American and proud Aggie who fought to keep this country free. He will be missed by all who knew him. John Joseph Hagan’s life and death will be celebrated at a funeral mass on Friday, July 6th, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in the Chapel at 1515 N. Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas 75002.
