Joellyn Ann Smith, age 56, of McKinney, Texas, passed away June 26, 2012, in McKinney. Joellyn was born November 8, 1955, in Akron, Ohio, to William Henry and Joan Marie (Minor) Heinl. She married Daniel John Smith on September 12, 1981, in North Canton, Ohio. Joellyn graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1974. She received a bachelor degree from Miami University in 1978. Joellyn was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in McKinney as well as the PTO at Slaughter Elementary, Walker Elementary, Faubion Middle School, and McKinney High School. She was also past PTO President for McKinney High School and McKinney Boyd High School. Joellyn was a Girl Scout Troop Leader, CCD Cluster Leader for St. Gabriel Catholic Church, a volunteer at St. Gabriel, volunteer at the McKinney Food Pantry, President of “Women in Trees Stock Club”, Co-Chair for Mayfair fundraiser at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Boulder, Colorado, and Room Mom for each of her four children.

She is survived by her husband, Dan Smith of McKinney, Texas; children, Michelle Marie Smith and Craig Daniel Smith, both of McKinney, Texas, Katherine Joellyn Smith of Houston, Texas, and Christina Lynn Smith, also of McKinney, Texas; father, William Heinl of North Canton, Ohio; sisters, Jill Krukar of Tampa, Florida and Jennifer Heinl of Chicago, Illinois; brother John Heinl of Toledo, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Julie Krukar, Eric Krukar, and Lindsay Heinl; and godchildren, Julie Krukar and Cindi Freyhauf.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Marie Heinl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2012, at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas with Father Greg Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m., Sunday evening with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
