IN LOVING MEMORY

Joseph Ray Carothers

Jul 10 1937 - Apr 15 2016

Joseph Ray Carothers, 78, of Little Elm, Texas passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 while being cared for in Plano, Texas. He was born in the small town of Panhandle, Texas, on July 10, 1937. He moved his family to Little Elm in 1972 and this is where he lived most of his life.

Joe was always known for his construction acumen. He was raised in the construction industry, eventually operating his own drywall company. He oversaw the construction of numerous national retail specialty stores while he worked for National Construction Services, Inc. He was always building or doing various projects around his house as he could. Up until the last few years, he was always busy. His passion for this area was well served by his drive to do everything at the highest quality.

Joe was a loving husband for 57 years and survived by his wife, LanaVe. He was very proud of all of his children and survived by Kerry and his wife Sabrina, Kay and her husband Eric, and Chris. These have also blessed him with nine grandchildren and four great-grand children. But we all know who his favorite child is and that’s Robin, his red Doberman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Loelett and half brother Aubrey Junior. Joe was known for his quick wit which was appreciated by some and not appreciated by others.

The family will hold a small, private graveside service  and then will receive friends at the home of Joe and LanaVe in Little Elm on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.  If you wish to send flowers, please send them to Joe and LanaVe's home at the request of the family.
