Joe Dean Fisher

Mr. Joe Dean Fisher age 68 of McKinney, Texas passed from this life to begin eternal life with his Lord on April 7, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer and lung related illness. He was born on April 25, 1936 in Collin County, Texas to Ollie Almus and Leona Evelyn (Venable) Fisher. He married Johnnie Montgomery on July 3, 1958 in McKinney. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church. Joe retired in 1993 from the Texas Department of Transportation after 34 years of faithful service. His colleagues and friends from this department honor him by escorting him to his final resting-place on this earth in Ridgeview Memorial Park. Joe was blessed with many kind and wonderful caregivers to whom we will be forever grateful. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Johnnie Montgomery Fisher who he lovingly told his children was his “angel”; sons, James (Andy) Fisher and wife Angela and Brent Raymond; daughters, Joetta Nixon and husband, Rodney and Jennie Hall all of McKinney; his grandchildren that were so very special to him, Joseph and Aneliesa Carroll of Denton, Chad Nixon, Brandi Carroll, Josh and Laura Fisher and Jesse and Nathan Hall all of McKinney; great grandson, Keaghan Dean Tallant also of McKinney; sisters, Betty Jean Phillips of Allen, Texas and Ollie Ruth Teter and husband, Don; brother, Everett Leo Fisher all of McKinney; several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and a great host of friends. Joe and Johnnie loved their family and opened their hearts and home to many. Bob, Brenda, Dave and Heather Mowat and their families, Bill and Gini Powell, Jessica and Bo are among those considered extended family and are loved dearly. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2005 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Don Schauda, Rev. Brad Sloan and Rev. Kelly Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
