Funeral services for Joe Clifford Daniel, 86 year old Bailey resident, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday September 16th at the First Baptist Church of Bailey. Rev. Brian Hawkins and Charles Wrenn will officiate. Burial will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery near Leonard. Family visitation will be from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday September 15th at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard. Mr. Daniel was born August 1, 1923 at his home place west of Bailey. His parents were Earl and Mattie Sudderth Daniel. He married Helen Ruth Vinson February 27, 1946 in the Savage Community. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2008. He owned and operated Daniel and Son Dozer Service, served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, was a former mayor of Bailey, taught the Fisherman Sunday School Class and served as a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Bailey for over 35 years. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Chester Earl & Vicki Daniel of Bonham, Texas; his daughters and sons-in-law: Connie Jo and Glenn Edwards of Wolfe City, Texas and Lou Ellen & Teddy Thompson of Leonard, Texas; his sister: Cleta Davis of Denison, Texas; 6 grandchildren: Crista, Amberly, Diana, Clifton, Danny and Abby; 8 great grandchildren: Nikki, Luke, Holten, Maggie, Hunter, Carrie, Hannah and Benjamin and 1 great-great grandchild: Olivia. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother and four sisters. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bailey.
