Joan Beth Rutledge, age 73, of Anna, Texas, passed away August 5, 2009, in McKinney, Texas. Joan was born April 29, 1936 in Melissa, Texas to Eugene and Ouida (Butler) Chilton. She married Haskell L. Rutledge on December 10, 1951, in Collin County. Joan was a retired Registered Nurse and an active member and deaconess of Melissa Christian Church. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Thompson and her husband, Ronney of Weston, Texas and Sharon Bourland and her husband, Ricky also of Weston; grandchildren, Jill Pharr and husband Bo, Jay Thompson, Bruce Bourland and his wife, Nikki, and Blake Bourland; great-grandchildren, Grace Bourland, Taylor Thompson, Jenna Pharr, Raeley Thompson, Jase Pharr, and Avery Layton; sister, Linda Close of Garland, Texas; brother, Larry Chilton and wife, Paula of Luella, Texas; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Melissa Christian Church in Melissa, Texas with Pastor Mike McConachie officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Friday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
