Jimmy Gotcher, age 69 of McKinney, Texas passed away March 14, 2015 in McKinney. He was born March 28, 1945 in McKinney to Charles Melvin and Lula L. (Smith) Gotcher. Jimmy graduated from McKinney High School in 1964. He married Sharon Knight September 18, 1976 in McKinney. Jimmy started at McKinney Fire Department on September 20, 1976 and retired after thirty-two years of service. He loved to ride motorcycles with his wife Sharon. Jimmy also worked on a Fire Rescue Truck at Texas Motor Speedway for seventeen years where he gained the nickname “Mad Dog”. His latest passion was their Rat Rod.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Gotcher of McKinney; brothers-in-law, Allen Knight and wife Karen of McKinney, Kent Knight and wife Kris of Lucas, and Steven Knight and wife Kim of McKinney; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Wills of Lucas and Pam Knight of Gunter; mother-in-law, Kathryn Knight of McKinney; fourteen nieces and nephews, twelve great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other loving family and friends.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Lula Gotcher; father-in-law, Bennie Knight and brothers-in-law, Richard Knight and Scott Wills.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
