IN LOVING MEMORY

Jimmy Chung

Feb 01 1966 - Apr 15 2014

Jimmy Chung, 48, of McKinney, Texas passed away suddenly on April 15, 2014 while on a business trip in Austin.  A devoted husband, father, son, and brother, he was also a beloved friend and role model to many.

Jimmy was born in Seoul, Korea to Young C. Chung and Angela Hwang Chung.  The family moved to the United States in 1974.  He grew up in Kansas, Missouri, and Houston, and attended the University of Houston and the University of Texas at Austin where he met his future wife, Martha (Marty) Balzen.  Jimmy and Marty were married in 1994 and have three daughters.  Jimmy was employed at Dell, Inc. for 21 years and had recently begun a new job at Fusion-io.

Jimmy is survived by his wife Marty Chung; his daughters Kiri (18), Lauren (15), and Rachel (7); his parents Angela Chung and Young Chung and wife Hye Suk Chung; his brothers Joe and David Chung; nieces Kimberly Chung and Arien Joyce, sister-in-law Elvia Gomez and great-nephew Mason Chung; sister- and brother-in-law Sandra and Michael Czuwala, nephews Nathan and Daniel Czuwala and niece Sarah Czuwala; mother-in-law Dotty Balzen; his beloved aunts including Mi Cho; and many cousins, of whom he was especially close to Hanna Cho and Mindy McDonough.  He is also survived by innumerable friends, many life-long, who were another family to him; and many coworkers who became close friends over the years.

The family will receive visitation Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.  Services will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Parkway Baptist Church, 5600 Virginia Parkway, McKinney, Texas, with the interment afterward at Pecan Grove Cemetery.  A reception will follow at the home of Jimmy’s sister- and brother-in-law (address to be given at the service).
