Jimmie Keith Herman, age 68, of Fairview, Texas, passed away June 2, 2011,in Fairview. Jimmie was born April 30, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Fredd A. and Peggie (Fairchild) Herman. On March 9, 1963, he married Ann Atkins at St. Peter’s Church in Houston, Texas. Jimmie proudly served his country for twenty eight years in the United States Navy. He was a Navy Seal and served three tours during the Vietnam Conflict. After retiring from the Navy in 1988, he worked for SAIC and retired from Raytheon. Jimmie and Ann were founding members of Heritage Ranch in Fairview. He is survived by his wife, Ann Herman of Fairview, Texas; children, Hilari Myers and husband, Darrell of King George, Virginia, Kelly Herman of Dallas, Texas, Stacy Medals and husband, Steve of Richardson, Texas, and Christian Herman of Plano, Texas; five grandchildren, Kerry Smith, Nicholas Myers, Emma Medals, Willa Medals, and Elliot Medals; two great-grandchildren, Kayli Smith and Trey Smith; brother, Tom Herman of Fayetteville, Arkansas; sister, Peggie Boettcher of St. Louis, Missouri; mother, Peggie Herman, also of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his father, Fredd Herman and brother, Sidney Herman. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, June 6, 2011, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas with Father Tim Church officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Sunday evening at St. Jude Catholic Church with a rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Animal Kindness or the American Red Cross.
