Jessie Pate Parks, of Princeton, Texas, passed away November 14, 2012 at the age of 80. He was born February 20, 1932, in Anna, Texas, to Jesse Atlas and Mary Grace (Hughes) Parks. On March 5, 1955, Pate married Bobbye Nell Odle. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge in Princeton and a member of First Baptist Church in Princeton. Pate was a huge fan of the Princeton Panthers.
He is survived by his children, Renee Anderson and husband Roy of Midlothian, Texas, Robert Parks and wife Brenda of Van Alstyne, Texas, Ronnie Parks and wife Terri of Austin, Texas, J.R. Parks of Princeton, Texas, Sandy Searcy and husband Keith of Princeton, Texas, Stephen Parks and wife Terry of Howe, Texas, James Parks and wife Kathleen of Prosper, Texas and Jeffery Parks of Princeton, Texas; 22 grandchildren; and, 26 great-grandchildren.
Pate is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Mary Parks and wife, Bobbye Parks.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday evening at the funeral home.
