Jess Ramirez

Jess Ramirez of Dallas, Texas passed away on September 21, 2015 at the age of 94. He was born on January 30, 1921 to Jesus and Leonor (Arroyo) Ramirez in Churintzio Michoacán, Mexico. Jess was the president and valedictorian of his high school. He was a member of the orchestra band where he played bass. Jess married Dora Ramirez on January 13, 1946 in Phoenix, Arizona. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II, the Vietnam Era and the Korean Conflict. Jess retired as an Air Force Colonel. He was an active member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. Jess was also involved in the Boy Scouts of America. He also enjoyed playing golf. Jess was a member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. He loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dora Ramirez of Dallas, Texas; sons, Edward Ramirez and wife Jan of Dallas, Texas, Dan Ramirez of Omaha, Nebraska, Paul Ramirez of San Diego, California; brothers, Ralph Ramirez, Joe Ramirez, Arnulfo Ramirez; sisters, Rosie and Teresa; and five grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 1914 Ridgeview Dr., Allen, Texas.
