Jerry Dale Mitchell, age 74, of Richardson, Texas, passed away November 12, 2013, in Richardson. Jerry was born September 12, 1939, in Elwood, Texas, to Carlton and Ruby (Campbell) Mitchell. He married Doris Blackman on September 26, 1960, in Hobbs, New Mexico. Jerry grew up in Elwood, Texas, and Hobbs, New Mexico. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Jerry spent most of his career with Exxon/Mobil as a dispatcher. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Mitchell of Richardson, Texas; daughter, Janet Coffee of Allen, Texas; son, Jason Mitchell of Carrollton, Texas; grandson, Justin Coffee; granddaughters, Melissa Langston and husband, Cody of Bastrop, Texas and Lily Mitchell of Carrollton, Texas; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Joan Juett and husband, Clyde of Richardson, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Janice Howell and Betty Jones.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
