Jerrel Duane Rowden

Jerrel Duane Rowden, age 77, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on November 24, 2011. He was born August 16, 1934, in Brownfield, Texas, to Hugh and Willie (Benton) Rowden. He proudly served his country as an Acting Chaplain in the United States Army in Europe. On July 6, 1960 Jerrel married Christiane Andrzejewski in France. Jerrel was a minister all of his life, and also a marriage counselor. He translated and published biblical publications for eighteen French speaking countries to support the mission field; his publishing work will continue to live on through continued publication. He also established and supported several Churches around the world, and led the Church of Christ in Quebec, Canada for 27 years. Through his efforts, countless have learned of the Word of God, and were saved. Several of them have gone on to become ministers themselves. Jerrel loved antique books, particularly old Bibles, and was a Bible scholar. He is survived by his wife, Christiane Rowden of McKinney, Texas; sons, Timothy Rowden and wife Cindy of Lewisville, Texas, David Rowden and wife Diana of McKinney, Texas; sister, Mary Beck of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. Jerrel is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Willie Rowden. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at Rock Hill Church of Christ, 9426 Rockhill Road, Frisco, Texas 75035.
