Jerome "Jim" Collura

Jerome “Jim” Collura, age 65 of Denison, Texas passed away on April 20, 2011 in Denison. Jim was born in Rockford, IL to Joseph Frank and Doris Lillian (Fers) Collura. Jim served four years in the air force as a B52 bomb technician. He worked in the automobile industry as a general sales manager for 35 years. Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, guns and archery. He also enjoyed cooking, drawing and painting, photography, decorating, building and fixing anything. Jim was kind and generous to family and friends alike—strangers as well. He will be dearly missed by all, including his beloved animals Pooch and Luke (Lucca). Many thanks to the all of the VA staff who cared for him dearly. Jim is survived by his daughter, Terese McSpadden and husband Derek of Frisco, Texas; son, Jerome Collura and wife, Chris of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher and Patrick McSpadden and Lunden Azuara; ex-wife and close friend, Mary Lou Collura of Frisco, Texas and her brothers and sister, Fred Saporito, Luke Saporito, Mark Saporito and Joanne Woods; godmother, Josephine Saporito. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Wayne Collura and grandparents, Girolamo and Leona Collura. The family will receive friends during a Visitation to be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home on Monday, April 25, 2011 beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rockford, Illinois.
