Jeffrey Robert Lowe McKinney, Texas – Jeffrey Robert Lowe died Monday, May 30, 2005 after a courageous 14-month battle against brain cancer. He died at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born March 22, 1954 in Decatur, IL, Jeffrey was the first child of Robert and Shirlene Lowe. He was a graduate of Amboy High School and the University of Illinois. On May 24, 1975, he married Barbara Hiatt of Amboy, IL. They were blessed with three children, Brooke, Brett, and Derek. They lived in Champaign and Crystal Lake Illinois before moving to McKinney, Texas in 2000. He enjoyed a 28-year career with Illinois Bell Telephone, Ameritech Services, and SBC Communications before his illness necessitated his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake and Stonebridge United Methodist Church of McKinney. His life was enriched by his faith and by the nurturing of his church family. Surviving to honor his life and legacy are wife Barbara, daughter and son-in-law Brooke and Stephan Kammerer, son Brett and friend Torie Northam, son Derek and friend Molly Romano, parents Bob and Shirlene Lowe of Amboy, IL, sister and brother-in-law Susan and Steve Florschuetz of Sublette, IL, and nephews Brian and Craig Florschuetz. His life was further enriched by his extended family that included an aunt and uncle, cousins, Barb’s family, and friends from Amboy, Champaign, Crystal Lake, McKinney, Ameritech, and SBC. He will be deeply missed by all of them. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 am Saturday June 4 at Stonebridge United Methodist Church, 1800 S. Stonebridge Dr., McKinney, TX 75070. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Stonebridge United Methodist Church, and designated for the Endowment Fund or for the McKinney Relay for Life Fund for cancer research.
