Jeanette Smith, age 95, of McKinney, Texas, passed away September 13, 2010, in McKinney. Jeanette was born February 5, 1915, in Midlothian, Texas, to James David and Della Fanny (Woodall) Mirike. She attended the University of Houston. Jeanette married William “Bill” Andrew Smith on June 13, 1936, in Houston, Texas. They moved to McKinney, Texas in 1950. Jeanette was active in the daily operation of Bill Smith’s Café in McKinney for forty years. She attended North Baptist Church in McKinney. Jeanette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her life was filled with family and friends who loved her dearly. She is survived by her son, Bill Smith and Debbie Hamm of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Sharon Crawford and husband, Johnny of Paris, Texas; grandchildren, Billy Smith, David Smith, Gary Smith, Debbie Smith, Diane Smith, Sandy MacKenzie, Brooke Collins, Drew Crawford, Greg Crawford, and Johnny Pat Crawford; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Bill Smith, parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
