Jean Clardy

Mrs. Jean Clardy, age 97, of Cedar Hill, Texas, was called home to heaven on November 28, 2013, in Arlington, Texas. Jean was born April 26, 1916, in Collin County, Texas, to Jesse and Hattie (Lawson) Baxter. She married Barnard Snow Clardy on September 27, 1949. Jean was a bookkeeper for Sears Roebuck and Co. for thirty-eight years. She loved music and was a charter member of her beloved Silver Serenaders of Texas. Jean was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Cedar Hill. As the wife of a Dallas Police Officer, Jean was appreciative of the way the department showed concern for her welfare and stayed in touch through the years.

She is survived by her cousins, Anita McKnight of Garland, Texas, Mary Sue Lunardon and husband, John of Irving, Texas, and Janie Henry and husband, Bill of DeSoto, Texas; sisters-in-law, Naomi Clardy Bratton of Abilene, Texas and Mary Jo Clardy of Ft. Worth, Texas; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Saturday evening at the funeral home.
