Jayne Ann Smith, age 72 of Wolfe City, Texas passed away February 20, 2015 in Plano, Texas. She was born March 8, 1942 in Plano, Texas to Thomas Benton and Grace (Hitt) Jackson. Jayne married William Travis Smith May 7, 1966 in McKinney, Texas. She was very involved in her children’s lives. Jayne volunteered her time with the boys baseball activates. She was also involved with PTA at McKinney ISD and was the den mother with Boy Scotts Troop 202. Jayne often donated to the Cancer and Veteran fund.
She is survived by her two sons, Travis Christopher and wife Renea of Paris, Texas and William Gregory Smith and wife Cherra of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Grace Allie Smith, Jackson Lee Smith, Kaleb Benjamin Long, Abby Taylor Long, Cassidy Nicole Smith, Olivia Noel Smith and Jordan Burkey; sister, Patsy Standifer of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Jayne was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. (Travis) Smith; parents, Thomas and Grace Jackson.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
