IN LOVING MEMORY

Jay Charles Palmer

Mar 03 1931 - Sep 28 2009

Jay Charles Palmer, retired TWA Captain, lost his battle with cancer on September 28, 2009, at home in Frisco, Texas. Born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 3, 1931 to C.J. and Marie Cale Palmer, he graduated from Paseo High School in 1948. Jay proudly served with the US Air Force in Okinawa during the Korean War. He returned to the States and has been married to his high school sweetheart, Gerry Cox Palmer, for 57 years. Jay and Gerry resided in Gladstone, MO until 1977 when they moved to Scottsdale, AZ. In 1993, they moved to McKinney, TX to be close to their daughter, Toni Jenkins of Plano, Texas and their granddaughter, Megan Allen. The Palmers are members of Preston Meadow Lutheran Church in Plano. In addition to his wife, daughter and granddaughter, Jay is survived by his son-in-law, Lloyd “Skip” Jenkins; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Leonard Wyatt of Stillwell, KS; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and David Gerber of Annandale, VA; nieces and nephews. Jay was known for his kind heart, incredible work ethic, strong faith and his ability to “fix” almost anything. Tragically, he could not fix cancer and he will be missed deeply by his loving family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8th at Preston Meadow Lutheran Church, 6801 Coit Road, Plano, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or to Faith Presbyterian Hospice.
