Mrs. Janie Smith, age 57, of Celina, Texas passed away March 10, 2006, in Celina. She was born July 6, 1948, in Tioga, Texas to Jack Edward and Dora Beatrice (Scoggins) Walker. On May 22, 1973, she married Alvin Glenn Smith in Gainesville, Texas. Mrs. Smith was a nurse’s aid and a member of the Mustang Baptist Church. She is survived by husband, Alvin Smith of Celina; aunt, Marie Bryant of Detroit, Texas, Gene Ramey of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Naomi Fennell of Detroit, Texas; uncle, Jack White of Childress, Texas; and a number of cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt, Marjie White and uncle, Jack Ramey. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2006, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Celina with Rev. Tracy Epting officiating. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Celina.
