Janie Gilbert Jenkins, age 72, of Richardson, Texas, passed away August 13, 2017. Janie was born February 4, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Elmer and Katie (Dossey) Gilbert. She married Michael Wayne Jenkins on December 17, 1966, in Arlington, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Ordieres and husband, Jorge of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Mike Ordieres, George Ordieres, Katie Ordieres, and Maddie Ordieres all of McKinney, Texas; sister, Joan Mason of Mesquite, Texas; brothers, Harlan Gilbert and wife, Frances of Humble, Texas and Dale Gilbert and wife, Linda of Arlington, Texas; sisters-in-law, Una Farley of Port Aransas, Texas, Billie Bryant of Springfield, Missouri, Mary Lewis of Sherman, Texas, Edith Jenkins of McKinney, Texas, Linda Jenkins of Corinth, Texas, and Christie Jenkins of Canton, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers-in-law, Dick Mason, J. W. Jenkins, Bob Lewis, Curtis Jenkins, Don Jenkins, J. T. Jenkins, Doyal Bryant, and Don Roy Farley, and sister-in-law, Anita Jenkins.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2017, at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
