Janice (Wickstead) Jadlow, 68, passed away September 20, 2014 in Allen, Texas. A service celebrating Janice’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, OK.

Janice Lynn Wickstead was born December 4, 1945 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey to John Carson Wickstead and Lucille Forman Wickstead. Janice attended schools in Pompton Lakes and Riverdale, New Jersey before graduating from Butler High School in Riverdale in 1963. She attended Miami University (Ohio), where she obtained a B.A. in mathematics with a minor in economics in 1967. Janice then attended the University of Virginia and earned a Masters of Arts in Economics. It was on the UVA campus that she met her future husband, Joe. Following earning her Masters degree, Janice worked as an Economist in the Banking Markets section of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C.

She married Joseph M. Jadlow on August 30, 1969 in Chester, New Jersey, a marriage that would last 45 wonderful years. Janice earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Oklahoma State University in 1977 in the area of international finance and trade. She served as a research economist in the School of Business at OSU while her daughters were young and did a post-doc in finance. She joined the faculty as a professor in the Department of Finance in 1984 where she taught international financial management. Janice was appointed department head in 1990, becoming the first female administrator in the OSU School of Business. She served as department head for sixteen years. Janice retired in 2010.   She and her husband moved to Allen, Texas in 2014 to be near their daughters and family.

Janice was a longtime resident of Stillwater where she made many treasured, enduring friendships. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed traveling. She was beloved by her family; a selfless woman who always put everyone else before herself. She will be remembered as an adoring wife, remarkable mother and doting grandmother.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Joe Jadlow of Allen, TX and two daughters, Joanna Jadlow and her family of Trophy Club, TX and Jennifer Durbin and husband Bill and two grandsons Nicholas and Evan Durbin of Allen, TX.

Memorial contributions may be made in Janice’s name to the OSU Foundation, designated for the Department of Finance or the donor’s charity of choice.
