Janice Marie Foster

Janice Marie Foster, age 50, of McKinney, Texas passed away May 9, 2006, in Plano, Texas. She was born June 29, 1955, in McKinney to Beulah Holley (Maxwell) and James Holley. She was the oldest of 5 siblings. Janice grew up in the First Baptist Church, 704 Drexel Street, McKinney and accepted Christ at an early age and joined the church. She attended Sunday School and served in other youth groups. Later as a young lady she sang in the Chancellor Choir and was one of the soloist. In 1974, the Senior Choir and Chancellor Choir made an album and 45 record of which she led several songs. She was very strong in her faith. She graduated high school in 1973. She married James Marshall Foster and to this union one son was born, James M. Foster, Jr. She was employed by Collin County Sheriff’s Department in 1991 where she worked until moving on to work for Collin County as a bailiff until her health began to fail. Janice graduated from Collin County Community College in Law Enforcement and received her certificate to be a policeman and law enforcement officer. She received a peace officer license in 1997. She had a vivacious personality and made many friends. She is survived by her son, James M. Foster, Jr. of Allen; grandson, Malik R. Foster of Lancaster, Texas; granddaughter, Tagyna C. Jones of Wylie, Texas; mother, Beulah Holley Maxwell of McKinney; sisters, Jamesetta Gray of McKinney, Jacqueline White of Allen and Robbie Holley of Dallas, Texas; brothers, John R. Holley of Ft. Worth, Texas and Jeffrey G. Holley of McKinney, Texas; grandmother, Lerline Robinson of Trenton, Texas; 8 aunts and 6 uncles; and many other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James Holley; grandmother, Ora Holley; grandfathers, Otis Holley and L.C. Robinson. Janice will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 13, 2006, at the First Baptist Church, 1615 W. Louisiana St. in McKinney with Rev. Lee Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Friday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
