Janice Warddean Akins, age 64, of Honey Grove, Texas, passed away March 30, 2011. She was born February 17, 1947 in McKinney, Texas to Robert Ward Bryant and Hazel Oleta (Cassidy) Bryant. On April 3, 1964 Janice married David Akins in McKinney, Texas. She is survived by her husband, David Akins of Honey Grove, Texas; children, Robin Oleta Romero and husband, Memo of Roswell, New Mexico, David Brian Akins of Van Alstyne, Texas, Tamara Aulds and husband, Steve of Athens, Texas, James Akins and wife, Tammy of Monahans, Texas; grandchildren, T.J. Aulds, Megan Akins, Tamijo Aulds, Meciah Aulds, Kathi Aulds, Katie Akins, Matthew Akins, Nathan Akins, Ismeal Romero, Kayle Romero and Kimberly Akins; great-grandchild, Logan; sister, Sharon Bryant of Pecan Gap, Texas, and niece, Patty Lynnette Wilson also of Pecan Gap. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hazel Bryant and sisters, Mary Hazel Bryant and Wanda Lorraine. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Rev. Bob Evans and Roger Burghauser officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
