Janet Stapp, age 65, passed away on May 23, 2015. She was born on January 13, 1950 in Bronx, New York to Paul and Rose (Sullo) Alfuso. Janet was a 1968 graduate of Martin Van Buren High School in Queens Village, New York. On March 17, 1973, Janet married Robert Stapp in Queens Village. They stayed there from 1973 until 1978, during which time their only child, Michael, was born in 1974. They moved to Texas in 1978 for a job opportunity. Janet began working for Region 10 Education Service Center in Richardson, Texas, where she retired after thirty years of service. She became a grandmother for the first time in 2002. They lived in Garland, Texas from 1978 until 2009; from there they retired to Heritage Ranch in Fairview, Texas. Janet was a very loving wife, mother, grandma and sister.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Stapp of Fairview, Texas; son, Michael Stapp and wife Leigh Ann of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Drew Stapp, Alison Stapp and Amanda Stapp all of Frisco, Texas; sister, Barbara Hoffmann and husband Steve of Palm Springs, California; nephews, Douglas Hoffmann, Paul Cicillini, James Cicillini and Matthew Cicillini; niece, Debbie Rose and husband Jim; brother-in-laws, Andy Stapp and wife Linda of Temple, Texas, Gary Troy and wife Teresa of New Hampshire; mother-in-law, Mildred Stapp of New Hampshire.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Rose Alfuso; sister, Loretta Cicillini; and father-in-law, J.C. “Pete” Stapp.
A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 8:00 p.m., on Friday evening at the funeral home.
