James Orvale White

James Orvale White, age 92, of Plano, Texas, passed away October 11, 2013, in Plano. James was born June 1, 1921, in Frisco, Texas, to Orvale and Fannie Paul (McCallister) White. He married Ruth Shirley Sollenberger on July 28, 1946, in Fairbury, Nebraska. James graduated from Frisco High School in 1939 and then from Draughns Business College in 1941. He went to work for USFG Insurance Company and later for Maultsby Construction Company. James was a builder who owned a construction company from 1950 to 1980 and built homes in McKinney, Allen, Wylie, and Murphy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Plano. James had a passion for his church. He was on the building committee and built the parsonage for the church. James, with his carpentry skills, built the trophy case at the church that is still in the hall today.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Shirley White of Plano, Texas; son, Bob White and wife, Oksana of Plano, Texas; daughter, Debra Ford and husband, Lee Roy, of Parker; granddaughter, Rheagan Mullins and husband, Steven of Allen, Texas; great-grandsons, Jackson, Harrison, and Wilson; sister, Mary Alice Thompson of Frisco, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home.
