IN LOVING MEMORY

James Alton Wade

Jan 08 1931 - Apr 05 2014

James Alton Wade, age 83 of Frisco, Texas passed away on April 5, 2014 in Dallas, Texas.  He was born on January 8, 1931 in Frisco to John Kirby and Nancy Jane (Strain) Wade and is the grandson of John Hickman Wade, an early settler in Lebanon. James was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church, where he was baptized. He attended Lebanon and Frisco schools, graduating from Frisco High School in 1949. He married Daffin Putman on May 1, 1954 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. James had an entrepreneurial spirit, which led him to purchase a grain business in his early 20’s in Weston, Texas.  He soon expanded the business to be a full service agriculture center including feed, seed, fertilizers and hardware and added locations in Anna, Celina and Frisco. He later expanded his efforts into farming and ranching ventures. James was always known as a sincere family man and loved the company of his children and grandchildren. Never one to shy away from a healthy political debate, James was a staunch Republican, who took pride in being a strong member of the party, long before it was in vogue in his state.

James is survived by his wife, Daffin Wade of Frisco, Texas; Daughter, Drusilla Wade Newman and husband, Jim of Frisco, Texas; Son, James Gregory Wade of Colbert, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Lauren Newman Burge and husband, Benjamin of Frisco, Texas, Whitney Newman Brubaker and husband, Chad of Frisco, Texas, Jared N.
