James Clarence Thompson, age 74, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on November 23, 2015. He was born June 11, 1941, to Floyd B. and Lois (Tidwell) Thompson. His youth was spent in Scurry-Rosser, Texas. On December 8, 1961 James married Jean Shaw in Kaufman, Texas. James enjoyed his career in the electrical industry. He loved to play golf, fish, hunt and watch old westerns.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Thompson of McKinney, Texas; children, Kevin Thompson and his wife Jessica of Winnsboro, Texas, Amy Thompson of Northbrook, Illinois and Amanda Johns of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica Garcia, Lauren Nix, Karen Thompson, Caitlin Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Colby Johns, Kaleigh Johns and Kade Thompson; sister, Mary Mouser; many other loving family and friends.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd B. and Lois Thompson; sister, Evelene Whiddon; and brother, Frank Thompson.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
