James H. "Tom" Thomas

James H. “Tom” Thomas, age 76, of Princeton, Texas, passed away April 28, 2013, in McKinney, Texas. Tom was born October 30, 1936, in Roxton, Texas, to James Herbert and Corinne (Simpson) Thomas. He married Geraldine “Dee” Meuir on August 27, 1957, in Honey Grove, Texas. Tom retired from the United States Navy in 1977 as an aviation structural mechanic. He was a past resident of Paris, Texas. Tom loved hunting, fishing, shooting, and woodworking. He was also the owner of the On The Road Again Café at Trades Day in McKinney, Canton and Bonham. Tom was a member of Maxey Baptist Church in Maxey, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Dee Thomas of Princeton, Texas; son, Bryan Thomas and fiancé Corey Martin of Justin, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Pilkington and wife, Falon and Christopher Pilkington and Brandi Johnson all of Paris, Texas and Kimber-Lyn Thomas of Justin, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Madilyn Pilkington and Mason Pilkington.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberley Dawn Pilkington in 1992.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Princeton, Texas. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m., Thursday at Meadowbrook Gardens in Paris, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. A visitation will also take place one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
